For the week ending on Mon., Aug. 19, the Warwick Fire (WFD) reports that it has responded to 277 calls for service to date.
On Mon., Aug. 12 WFD officers and members completed truck checks of the apparatus. The Goodwill Hook & Ladder Company #1 conducted an aerial apparatus drill to train firefighters how to properly place apparatus at an emergency scene for building size up and ladder operations.
On Tues., Aug. 13 the WFD distributed new Scott Self-contained Breathing Apparatus to company officers to be placed in service on all department fire apparatus once all members are fit tested for our new masks. A huge thank you to the WFD Commissioners and our Fire District Administrator for securing these vital pieces of equipment from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant for firefighters to ensure that they have the best equipment at all times.
On Wed., Aug. 14 the Raymond Hose Company #2 held a blood drive and we thank the members for hosting this blood and for the community for supporting the event.
On Sat., Aug. 17 the WFD attended the wetdown of new Chester FD apparatuses at the Chester Commons Park.

Install smoke alarms on every level of your home, inside bedrooms and outside sleeping areas. Test smoke alarms every month. Talk with all family members about a fire escape plan and practice the plan twice a year. If a fire occurs in your home, Get Out, Stay Out and Call For Help.
Raffle Tickets & Firefighters Needed
The Goodwill Hook and Ladder Company #1 and the Warwick Fire Police are currently selling raffle tickets to help support these organizations. In addition, firefighters are needed to join the WFD.
