In a perfect fit at an outstanding Homecoming weekend, the Warwick community embraced the newest Warwick Football Hall of Fame members during halftime of the Warwick FDR football game.
The crowd of over 3,000 welcomed Warwick’s three inductees. Jose Guadalupe, a resident at the former Pius XII School in Chester, NY, attended Warwick High School, graduating in the Class of 1968. Guadalupe was one of Warwick’s most accomplished athletes and many of his friends and family from Pius returned for his induction. Some came from as far as California and Chicago.
Jack DeGraw enters the Hall of Fame as an accomplished tight end and defensive lineman. During his four year career, the Wildcats only lost two games from 1964 to 1967. Both Guadalupe and DeGraw played under football coach Joseph Green.
Anthony Mann graduated in the Class of 1992 as team captain. He played on the heralded 1990 and 1991 teams under coach Joseph Viglione, winning an intersectional title.
Leo Kaytes Ford, Fratello’s and Warwick Sanitation sponsored the event. Anyone interested in supporting this event or nominating a former Warwick gridder can call Gregory Sirico 987–3050, ext. 12880.
