‘Bowling With the Bravest’ Fundraiser a Success

     On Sat., Jan 25 the Warwick Fire Department (WFD) hosted its 2nd annual Bowling With the Bravest fundraiser at Pin Street. Thank you to the wonderful merchants for their generous donations and to the bowlers who supported the WFD.  Please remember to shop local and help support community businesses.  Thank you all again!

Weekly Activity Report

     The WFD reports that for the week ending on Mon., Jan. 27, the WFD has responded to 25 calls for service to date.

     This past week WFD responded to multiple calls for service including rescuing two hikers who were injured on the Appalachian Trail.  Thank you to the Warwick Police, Warwick EMS and the Greenwood Lake Fire Department for their assistance. Please remember to use caution hiking alone including staying hydrated, dressing for the environment and having a cell phone.

     On Mon., Jan 20 Warwick FD Companies completed in-house apparatus and building checks. All four companies also attended the annual Public Employee Safety & Health Training at Warwick Station 2 with over 70 active firefighters in attendance.

Fire Prevention Recommendations

     The Warwick Fire Prevention team asks that residents remember to change the batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Also remember to have homes checked, including boilers, water heaters and chimneys. Remember to always be Warwick Fire Safe! Visit www.fpw.org or www.sparkyschoolhouse.org for loads of educational resources to make sure that every person knows what to do in case of a fire.
