Florida Public Library to Reopen Aug. 1

News & Updates

Florida Public Library announces its reopening to the public on Sat., Aug 1. All Ramapo Catskill Library System (RCLS) cardholders can once more visit the library to check out books, DVDs, audiobooks, CDs, video games, magazines and more.

The number of people allowed in the building will be limited. All persons entering the library are required to wear face covering and observe social distancing requirements. Patrons are asked to enter through the rear door off the deck and exit through the side door; the front entrance will be closed. Hand sanitizer will be available at both doors. The stacks will be open for browsing, but patrons are asked not to linger so that more people can use the building. No inside seating will be available, except for patrons using limited public computers for 30-minute sessions. Wi-Fi is available on the rear deck and patrons are welcome to sit at the picnic tables.

For patrons not wishing to enter the building, curbside service will be available through Labor Day, Mon., Sept. 7, or longer, if necessary. Library fines are suspended through Labor Day. Notary public service is by appointment; printing, photocopying and faxing are available anytime the library is open. FPL will close to the public one hour early to allow staff to clean the building.
