Mayor Dwyer: Learn Sustainable Gardening with Grow Local GWL

News & Updates

Grow Local GWL is a not-for-profit organization that has partnered with the Village of Greenwood to operate a sustainable garden and education site on Poplar St. The community garden located on Poplar offers both membership for “private plots” as well as public areas for those not interested in the rigor of maintaining your own garden plots. The organization is looking for volunteers as they build out the property in anticipation of the growing season. If you are interested in getting involved or have questions, please email Chad Pilieri at growlocalgwl@gmail.com.

Kayak Launch Reopens for the Season

As the last bit of ice melted on Greenwood Lake, we quickly put out the dock and launch system for our public passive boat launch. The launch can be found in our beautiful gateway park located across the street from the firehouse on Mountain Lakes Ln. The area where the launch is located offers calm water with great fishing, bird watching and an abundance of wildlife. Please enjoy our parks responsibly and pack out what you bring in. A final note, please be sure to clean your boats before entering the water and when you leave. There is a hose with fresh water on site.
