A funeral was held for John Rader, 85, on Tuesday morning, October 5 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Greenwood Lake. John was in the Navy, a former Greenwood Lake Postmaster, began the first GWL food pantry, was past president of the GWL Fire Department, former captain of the GWL Ambulance Corps., and GWL Citizen of the Year in 2020. His son John is Police Chief in Warwick. GWL and Warwick Police stood at attention along with the GWL Fire Dept. There was a bagpiper playing while he was being carried out of the church, and everyone saluted. Four motorcycle riders from the Warwick Police Department followed the hearse to the graveyard.
