Event will be held August 10-11 at Orange County Airport

Goshen, N.Y. – Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus announced that the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds jet demonstration squadron and Italian Air Force Freece Tricolori teams will headline the 2024 New York Air Show on August 10-11 at Orange County Airport in Montgomery.

“We are excited to have the Thunderbirds back again and look forward to hosting the Air Show with our partners,” Neuhaus said. “The addition of the Freece Tricolori team makes it an even more exciting, better international event. The County looks forward to another terrific air show this summer for residents and visitors to enjoy.”

The U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, known to the entire world as the “Thunderbirds,” is the Air Force’s Ambassadors in Blue. They represent the 500,000 men and women of the United States Air Force. The Thunderbirds plan and present precision aerial maneuvers to exhibit the capabilities of modern, high-performance aircraft and the high degree of professional skill required to operate those aircraft. The Thunderbirds squadron is composed of eight pilots (including six demonstration pilots), four support officers, four civilians, and more than 100 enlisted personnel.

The Frecce Tricolori was created in March of 1961 with the goal of training Italian Air Force pilots in aerobatics. Their signature white, green, and red smoke represents the three colors of the Italian flag. The team currently flies the Italian-built Aermacchi MB-339 trainer.
