Dear Editor
I am writing to express my heartfelt support for my husband, Aaron Ubides, as he seeks election to the office of County Legislator, District 2. As someone who knows him best, I believe he possesses the integrity, dedication, and vision our community needs and deserves.
After a tough divorce following an abusive long-term relationship, I met Aaron on a blind date arranged by friends. Although I was hesitant to go initially, I was certainly happy that I did! I found myself immediately drawn to his genuine nature and easy-going personality. Aaron never judged; He understood the challenges I faced and has always supported me with kindness and patience, even through difficult conversations and tough days.
When I met Aaron, he was a single father raising his sixteen-year-old daughter. She later became my beloved bonus daughter, and we are now proud grandparents together. Aaron’s desire to serve as legislator is based on wanting to become more involved and impactful in the community. He wants to ensure that our community remains a wonderful place to live- not only for our family, but all the families that call Orange County home. Aaron is committed to policies that help families thrive in Orange County and understands the struggles today’s families are facing.
Throughout the years, Aaron has always shown a commitment to volunteering, public service, and a genuine compassion for others. He has an incredible knack for listening and truly always wants to do the right thing. His approach to leadership is grounded in fairness, openness, and accountability.
So many times, when we’re at events, people come up to me to express their gratitude for things Aaron has done to help them in their time of need, often sharing stories of things he’s done to help them, even before we met. It makes me proud to hear these stories- he doesn’t usually come home and talk about them. Anyone that knows him can attest to his willingness to always go the extra mile- whether it’s a call from a friend needing a repair on a holiday or in a snowstorm, a telephone diagnostic session, or an ear to listen, he’s “that guy”.
He believes that local government should be responsive and transparent, and he is dedicated to making sure every voice is heard. Aaron understands that being a legislator means working for the people and he will fight for policies that build a brighter future for our families.
I encourage everyone to vote for Aaron Ubides in the upcoming election. With his experience, dedication, and heart for service, I am confident he will be a strong advocate for our community and a leader we can trust.
