For more than 75 years, the Greenwood Lake Lions Club has been an integral part of the Greenwood Lake community, building a proud legacy of service, generosity and neighbors helping neighbors.
On Sept. 23, we celebrated the Greenwood Lake Lions Club and its members for carrying that tradition of service forward. The Lions support the local food pantry and youth organizations, provide scholarships and vision screenings, participate in childhood cancer initiatives, undertake environmental and community beautification projects, and provide financial assistance to local organizations and programs.
Honored guests included Hudson Valley & Catskills District 20-O District Governor Doug Stage; Council of Governors Chair Jeanne Mulry; Warwick Town Supervisor Jesse Dwyer; Greenwood Lake Village Trustee and fellow GWL Lion Thais Pilieri; and Greenwood Lake Volunteer Ambulance Corps President Mike King and Captain Bob Russo.
While the projects may have changed over the years, the mission has remained the same. The motto of Lions Clubs International says it simply: “We Serve.”
For the Greenwood Lake Lions Club, those two words have represented more than 75 years of commitment to the community—and a promise to continue serving for generations to come.
