Upcoming Programs at the Albert Wisner Library

    The Albert Wisner Public Library is offering several programs in February via Zoom. Join Laurie Byro on Wed., Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. for a lively session welcoming new members in a virtual meet-and-greet. Each attendee is asked to bring one or two poems that represent who they are or how they perceive the world. 

The Many Facets of Judaism

  On Thurs., Feb. 4 at 6:30 p.m. a program entitled, “The Many Facets of Judaism,” will be held via Zoom. Panelists (including Jewish clergy from the Reform, Conservative, Hasidic, Modern Orthodox and Chabad movements) will share their tradition and how it differs from other Jewish ways of being. 

‘Mindfulness: Steadiness in

 the Midst of Change’

On Wed., Feb. 10, Wed., Feb. 17 and Wed., Feb. 24 at 5:30 p.m., clinical psychologist Ruth Langstrom will lead a three-part course exploring mindfulness, with an emphasis on how the practice of mindfulness can help steady everyone when life feels unstable. Each class will include guided meditation practice, teaching and Q&A, as well as optional homework.  It is recommended, though not required, that participants attend all three classes if possible.
