The Village Police Department, in collaboration with the Village Board and local volunteers, have put forth a community policing strategy for the future of our department and community. The strategy, which includes topics such as building trust within the community, policy and oversight, technology and social media, community policing and crime reduction, training and education as well as officer wellness and safety, can be found on the Village website at https://www.villageofgreenwoodlake.org/community-policing-collaborative-strategy/.
We have also included a comprehensive re-write of the police department’s rules and regulations (662 pages). Both are open for public comment and discussion.
