Ryan secured nearly $17 million in Fiscal Year 2024 Community Project Funding for last year’s initiatives
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Pat Ryan announced the launch of the Community Project Funding (CPF) process, open to local governments for Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25). The CPF process allows localities to submit requests for direct federal funding for high-priority community projects in New York’s 18th Congressional District. The deadline to submit applications to the Office of Congressman Pat Ryan for Community Project Funding is Monday, April 29, 2024, at 5:00 PM EST.

Last Congress, the House Appropriations Committee announced a new Community Project Funding initiative to allow Members of Congress to target federal funds towards projects and programs that will address the most significant needs facing the communities they represent.
Only state, local, and tribal governments; publicly owned entities (e.g. ports, universities, PUDs, etc.); and eligible non-profits are permitted to request Community Project Funding. One notable change from previous years is that nonprofits are no longer eligible for Community Project Funding in the Economic Development Initiative (EDI) account. Institutions of Higher Education are still eligible. This initiative is coupled with stringent eligibility, ethics, and transparency guardrails that are outlined on the individual forms linked below.
In addition, only projects with evidence of strong support from the community will be considered, and evidence of community support and community need is required as part of the application. This evidence can take the form of a letter from local stakeholders, inclusion on a state or local planning document, letters to the editor in local papers, or similar documentation.
CPF requests may only be made for certain types of projects determined by the House Appropriations Committee. Each project proposal must meet the specified eligibility and/or matching requirements. This is a highly competitive process and only a limited number of requests can be submitted to the Appropriations Committee. The Committee will ultimately decide which projects move forward for funding.
All Community Project Funding requests must be submitted to Ryan’s office by Monday, April 29, 2024 at 5:00PM EST.

- The Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Water Infrastructure Project: $959,752
- The Village of Kiryas Joel Water Infrastructure Project: $2,000,000
- The Village of Millerton Water Infrastructure Project: $959,752
- The Town of Wappinger Safe Drinking Water Project: $959,752
- The Village of Warwick Water Infrastructure Project: $959,752
- Chester Farmworker Housing: $1,000,000
- Otisville 4-H Expansion: $1,000,000
