Sheriff Paul Arteta has been appointed to the National Sheriffs’ Association Drug Enforcement  Committee, which is chaired by Minnehaha County Sheriff Mike Milstead and co-chaired by  Ulster County Sheriff Juan Figueroa. This appointment acknowledges Sheriff Arteta’s ongoing  commitment to combating illegal drugs, strengthening law enforcement partnerships, and  protecting our communities from the devastating effects of drug-related crimes.

As the Sheriff of Orange County, he is dedicated to proactive narcotics enforcement, collaborative  investigations, and working with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to identify and  combat drug trafficking operations. Through these partnerships, including cooperation with the  Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Sheriff’s Office actively pursues those responsible for  introducing and distributing illegal drugs into our communities.

Serving on the National Sheriffs’ Association Drug Enforcement Committee will allow Sheriff  Arteta to collaborate with fellow sheriffs and law enforcement leaders nationwide, share strategies,  and continue to combat the ongoing threat of illegal narcotics and drug trafficking.

“Combating illegal narcotics requires a united and persistent commitment from law enforcement at  every level,” said Sheriff Arteta. “I am honored to serve on the National Sheriffs’ Association  Drug Enforcement Committee alongside Sheriff Milstead, Sheriff Figueroa, and my fellow law  enforcement leaders who share this mission. We must continue to strengthen our partnerships,  support effective enforcement efforts, and hold those who distribute illegal drugs accountable.  Protecting our communities from the dangers of narcotics remains a priority, and we will continue  working together to make a difference.”

Sheriff Arteta’s appointment reinforces the Orange County Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to  regional cooperation, effective narcotics enforcement, and the safety of Orange County residents.
