Supervisor Sweeton: Tis the Season!

Local News News & Updates

On behalf of the Town Board I would like to wish everyone a Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving. Hopefully you can enjoy time with family and friends in celebration of all that is good about this great land we call home.  Thank you also to the service organizations, Veterans’ Groups and those individual citizens who will lend a helping hand to those in need this year.  Your generosity and kindness is a testimony to what makes Americans unique in this world.  Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Tis the Season!

On Fri., Nov. 29 at 6 p.m., the Warwick Fire Department will be lighting the Village of Warwick Christmas tree at the Old School Baptist Church.  On Sun., Dec. 1, the Village of Greenwood Lake will hold a Holiday Vendor Fair at the Community Center on Waterstone Road with their tree lighting at dusk. The Village of Florida will light their tree on Fri., Dec. 6 at 4 p.m. at Village Hall.  Rumor has it Santa will appear at all three to greet our youngsters. Come on out to kick off this festive season.

Shopping local can make or break many of our small business owners. All of our businesses in our Villages, hamlets and Town rely on the next five weeks for a large portion of their revenues; so please, before you head out of Town try to fill your list here where you live.  Everyone benefits!

Town Hall will be closed on Fri., Nov. 29 as part of the Thanksgiving observance.

Our recycling hauler, County Waste, will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. Thursday’s recycling will be picked up on Friday.

The next regular meeting of the Town Board will be held on Thurs., Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Warwick Town Hall, 132 Kings Hwy. in Warwick.
