Mayor Dwyer: Season of Political Signs

Local News News & Updates

As ugly and intrusive as political signs may seem, they are a Constitutionally protected form of free speech. Recently, I have been made aware of political signs being removed, stolen and trashed on both public and private property. This act, occurring from both sides of the “aisle,” is illegal and wholly unacceptable and will be monitored and enforced by the Village Police Department.

We are asking that anyone who puts out a political sign either on public or private property to please remove them within one week after the election. If signs are not removed from public property after one week, our Parks and Rec. department will remove them and discard them accordingly.
