Kenneth Hampton left the mother of his son-to-be one night, and deceptively set off to spend a salacious evening with another woman. On his way home, the Connecticut resident was violently robbed, as three men held guns to his head, back and chest.

This was just the beginning of a series of events that would lead the young black man to a path of penance, righteousness, and the calling to elevate not only himself, but also, the men and women he would cross paths with.

These days, Hampton is author, entrepreneur, music producer, composer, and music supervisor of the Hoboken Film Festival, a prominent event, which has called Greenwood Lake its home in previous years.

“It is always an incredible experience to come to Greenwood Lake. From local officials to local talent, my crew and I were always welcomed, loved, and treated like family,” comments Hampton, who, for more than two decades, has ministered to thousands globally through a variety of multi-media platforms.

Recently, Hampton has come into the spotlight with his published book, Aspire for Change, multiple interviews on major networks and a movie deal in the works.

Aspire for Change is a new self-help manual, offering a compilation of affirmations that links spirituality to success and encourages readers to let go of the past and start a new personal journey

Hampton was inspired by his own childhood without a positive male role model.

“I was a broken person who did not have a leadership role male in my life, like a lot of males… A father is very important, and my father was also a cheater, so I fell into the same generational curse of womanizing and cheating… My mom told me to stop messing around, but as she was obviously a woman, I couldn’t identify with her,” Hampton candidly reflects.

“I wanted to be loved, and as women desired me, it made me feel like a better man,” he admits.

In 1999, with the help of a young Christian neighbor who often prayed for and ministered to him, Kenneth finally became tired of a misguided life and began attending church. He was struck by the pastor’s sermon to “never let another man go through what you’ve been through.” Kenneth finally gave his life to Christ.

Now, a changed and blessed new man, Ken has helped countless others, including his dear friend and now publisher, Judy San Roman.

“Ken helped me through a difficult time with his radiant words, so I approached him about putting it into a book. I think it’s perfectly timed as we can all use a word of encouragement right now,” Roman stated.

Another close friend, Treach, from Naughty by Nature, commends Hampton for, “… brothers building up brothers. Ken has been sending inspirational messages since I met him at the Video Music Awards After Party last year. It’s good to see brothers encouraging in these days and times. I hope this book has a major impact to bring out the best in people.”

Hampton is Music Director of the Hoboken International Film Festival; Co-Host of the JCT TV show; Founder and Co-Ceo of Raise Em Up Records; Founder, CEO and Composer of Composers Media Group LLC; Vice President of Sales for Reel Film Cinema; Executive Director of Acquisitions at Reel Film Distribution; Executive Producer, Producer and Head Composer for Continuum Motion Pictures; Producer and Head Composer for Velero Films; and Composer and Music Supervisor for NANDAR Entertainment. He has worked on over 50 projects with multiple film companies for Film and TV in all genres.

Hampton humbly stands behinds his motto that, “I am a body builder. I don’t lift weights. I lift people… I’m using my past to heal and build people up. The world is a hospital, we are all sick, and it’s our responsibility to heal.”
