Supervisor Sweeton: Get Out & Enjoy Spring in the Park!

Local News News & Updates

For Town information log on to www.townofwarwick.org  or tune to Cablevision Municipal Channel 21.

The Town has posted the final version of our Executive Order 203 Police Reform Plan as required by Governor Cuomo.  It lays out steps to improve upon the excellent job the men and women of the Warwick Police Department does for our residents, while outlining a path to an even better department.  The plan and an extensive appendix can be viewed at www.townofwarwick.org.  I urge all of our residents to review the plan and its supporting documents.  Residents should know that we have a department that works hard to serve all in our Town with fairness and dignity every single day.  Any organization can always improve, and we look forward to doing so.

Spring may finally have arrived, so why not get out and enjoy one of our many beautiful parks.  Whether it’s kayaking on Wickham Lake, visiting our Union Corners Dog Park, playing on the beautiful playground equipment at the Pine Island Park, there is something for everyone.  As the first Appalachian Trail community in New York State, you can take some easy day hikes that offer spectacular views of our Town.  Whatever you do, do it safely and enjoy time outdoors with your family.

The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Program and Hudson Valley CA$H Coalition offers free tax preparation assistance to low to moderate income individuals, families and seniors. Due to COVID-19, the Tax-Aide program Tax Preparation Service has been modified for the 2021 season.  There are two options available – Tax Site Service and No Contact Service.  Call United Way’s Help Line, 2-1-1 or 1(800) 899-1479 for more information.  Calls are accepted seven days a week, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.  In addition, there are online sites for free tax preparation.
