Florida Tavern Raises Money for Breast Cancer Advocacy

News & Updates

“Our goal is to raise $,2000 to promote breast cancer awareness, prevention, and research,” says author and Mattingly’s Tavern owner Tom Mattingly.

With the help of Sue Loughran at Rooster Tees in Warwick, Mattingly’s Tavern, located in the Village of Florida, has printed logo T-shirts with the tag line, “Strike Out Breast Cancer at Mattingly’s Tavern.”

Author of The Single Father’s Guide to Life, Cooking and Baseball and the children’s book Father Like a Tree, Mattingly’s late wife, Lori, lost her battle with breast cancer in 2005.

“I have a personal motive for supporting groups that help women and families facing a breast cancer diagnosis. I have first-hand knowledge of the devastation it creates,” said Mattingly.

The Tavern will also donate one dollar for every salad sold during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The shirts are on-sale both at the Tavern and at its online store by visiting www,shop.mattinglys.com.
