Local News News & Updates

Ham Martin, former resident of Warwick talked about his recently published novel, “Talk Radio” with Rosemary Cooper, Director of the Albert Wisner Library and Susan Supak, cohost of the OLLI at UNT podcast in Denton, TX. The Interview is part of the Library’s Authors Out Loud series that can be found on the Library’s YouTube Channel at www.albertwisnerlibrary.org.

Ham, was named for his late father Isham, who brought his young family to the ancestral home of his wife, Tryntje, on Colonial Ave. at the Warwick Village line.  Ham graduated from Warwick High School in 1967 and served on the very first Washington, D.C. staff of Congressman Ben Gilman.

Ham and his wife, Mary, settled into small town life in Woodstock, CT and raised four sons there.  He pursued many creative interests including hosting a talk radio program at a small AM station, the setting for the novel, “Talk Radio.”  Susan and Rosemary spoke with him about his book from his current home on the coast of Maine.

Authors Out Loud is a series of discussions with authors, exploring their books – delving into the inspiration for their characters, themes and stories, as well as discussing the craft of writing itself, the trials and victories they experience seeing their works to completion.
